Brief Bio
Luca A. Ludovico is a researcher at the Laboratorio di Informatica Musicale (LIM), Department of Computer Science, University of Milan. He graduated in Computer Engineering at the Politecnico of Milan and took his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Milan. His education includes music studies in piano and composition. At present, he is Aggregate Professor of MIDI programming, Sound Synthesis and Music Informatics Laboratory. His main research activity consists in the investigation of computer-based encoding for symbolic aspects of music. As a member of the IEEE Technical Committee on Computer Generated Music, he has been the Italian coordinator of the project PAR1599 that brought to the standardisation of the IEEE 1599 format.


The goal of this special session is to investigate the impact of computer-based approaches on music education. Specifically, contributions should focus on the development and use of hardware devices, software, and, more generally, advanced technologies (e.g., new-generation mobile networks, artificial intelligence, etc.) aiming to support music learning/teaching and to improve player's performance.


Authors are welcome to submit papers, discuss theory or research issues, demonstrate tools:
